2022 State Finals | K-12 InVenture Prize

The 2022 K-12 InVenture Prize State Finals event was held online this year with 182 teams (372 students) competing at State Finals. Judging was held live through the RocketJudge platform with 55 judges evaluating student teams and determining which teams are awarded one of the 25 awards and a spot to the national competition at Invention Convention Worldwide.

Muddy Pawz

1st Place (tie)

With these gloves, dog owners can easily clean the mud off of a dog's paws without having to wash the entire dog! Simply squeeze the paw dispenser and soap will travel up the tube to the silcone scrubber. Rub gently and your dog's paws will be clean!

The Last Straw

This innovative idea allows shoppers to reach items on the top shelf of stores without wasting time to locate an associate. These grabbers are sold to be reused at stores. When you leave, you hang it back on its stand and it automatically sprays disinfectant to lower the risk of spreading germs and filling landfills with cleaning wipes

The Fish Saver

People spend so much time fishing that they end up overfishing unintentionally, hurting planet Earth. The Fish SAVER is a metal bucket that includes a scale and a measurement bar. If someone fishes over the 12 lb. limit, the scale will beep, prompting them to stop.

Water Rover

Can you imagine having to carry a big jug for miles every day. Unfortunately, this is the case for many people in rural areas, but do not fear the water rover is here! The water rover is a remote-control vehicle with four durable wheels, a big container, and retractable solar panels.

Benzene Free Fingernail Polish

In nail polish there is a toxin called Benzene which can cause many blood cancers. Benzene can be very dangerous for your health, so I cooked and created an organic Benzene free fingernail polish made out of non-toxic vegan nail polish base, dried flowers, glass, bottle, and a clear packaging box.

E-FOLD Milk Carton

One of the problems that annoy almost all of the people around the world is that the big milk cartons that we use today, take a lot of space in the trash can. The E-FOLD Milk Carton is an eco-friendly foldable milk carton that you can fold easily after you are done with the milk and want to throw it away.

UltraVii

Our invention, the UltraVii, is a germicidal UV-C silicone pad designed to sanitize laptop keyboards. By inactivating microbes upon exposure, the UltraVii diffuses UV-C light evenly across a surface for a novel form factor with safe and effective sanitation which exceeds all other market alternatives.

The Heart Rate Reducing Helmet

Has someone you know been feeling anxious and stressed at points to where the can feel their heart thundering in their chest? Well, the Heart Rate Reducing Helmet might be the solution just for that. With the use of green cellophane lenses and an automated lever, they can use this device in their daily life and feel better just two minutes after putting it on!

My Pantry

The MyPantry app is an inventory management app to help the user track location and expiration date of expendable goods. This can include food, chemicals, or any other item that can expire. This app was programmed in Android Studios using the programming language "Java". We intend to market towards both consumers and partner with grocery stores for mutual benefits.

When handeling opening procedures in an operating room, too many people are present increasing chances for infection. The Lister Mark one allows for robotic cutting and cauterizing with fewer people needed.

Sanitizing Livestock Delivery System

The Sanitizing Livestock Water Delivery System is designed for goats. The system is adjustable for both genders and all stages of life. This system uses UV-C light to sanitize the drinking basin between animals to cut down on the spread of diseases among the herd.

Darkness-Activated Auto-Dimming Bike Light

This bicycle front headlight automatically adjusts its brightness based on its surroundings. This means that the light is always at the brightness level needed for best visibility based on how dark it is outside. The user does not have to manually dim the light while biking, allowing dangerous situations to be avoided and providing convenience and an overall great biking experience!

Electric City

Energy Award

With the Electric City app and toolkit, stopping global warming can become easier. The app will give you tips on your water and energy usage based on your past activity. The toolkit has all the starter sensors needed to get going: A water flow meter, light sensor, temperature sensor, and a CO2 gas sensor. This can help reduce greenhouse gas usage to end climate change.

Manufacturing Award

Most roads have to be replaced every 18 years, therefore cities need more sustainable and eco-friendly asphalt options because of the manufacturing’s harm to the environment. Clean Road Co's asphalt aggregate is created from recycled and locally available materials to create greener, longer lasting roadways.

Athegia: An At-Home Medical Monitoring Program

Health Award

A simple to use health biometric device targeted at patients with chronic conditions that combines the readings from multiple low-cost bluetooth enabled sensors and saves the results securely in the cloud for analysis and possible intervention. Currently the device supports three sensor, but the architecture has been designed to support all devices with bluetooth capability.

Aya Ayoubi

Keynote Speaker

Aya is a recent graduate from Georgia Tech's School of Industrial Design and competed at the 2021 Georgia Tech InVenture Prize as one of six finalists with her patent-pending design, The Delta Jacket. Aya sought to find solutions in the space of the Jordan Refugee Crisis and invented The Delta Jacket to improve bedding for individuals who experience homelessness. The Delta Jacket is a reversible jacket that users can inflate by blowing air, which can then act as an air mattress or for added insulation as a jacket.

“IronCAD’s participation [in InVenture Prize] every year is about more than a sponsorship,” IronCAD Software Engineer and Educational Program Liason, Cameron Schriner said. “When envisioning a future based around design, engineering, and collaboration, the biggest constant is the new faces taking on those challenges.
